Welcome to SIM Utah, where you will find the most dynamic group of IT leaders in the industry. SIM Utah has a solid reputation as the key organization for the IT leader in the Salt Lake City area. As an IT leader the chapter provides an opportunity for you to network with your peers, share knowledge and experiences, and attend monthly luncheons where presentations from key industry professionals are given.

Besides the monthly meetings SIM Utah offers key sessions in our CIO Roundtable, Innovation sessions for front line technology professionals, and training for the up-and-coming IT leader.

You, the IT executive make this chapter what it is. That’s why we have grown membership in the double digits over the past years.

I am honored and excited to be the President this year of such a tremendous organization. I intend to build on our recent successes and continue with the excellent SIM Utah programs and events that have become the standard for our chapter. You have a tremendous SIM board, with years of dedicated, real world leadership experience in the IT industry. All members of the SIM Utah Board have a passion for the success of the organization and each plays a part in making SIM Utah the outstanding organization that it is.

Some of the key goals of the SIM Board for 2008-2009 include:

•  Launching a CIO Summit where CIO’s in the area can convene for a day and glean from the experiences of each other and industry experts.

•  Adding a new focus on membership recruiting where we will reach out to the CIO or top IT leader from the local business community.

•  Continuing the high level of speakers and presentations that our membership has come to expect.

•  Presenting the new SIM Experiential Leadership Development course, where the IT leaders of the future can learn personally from current IT leaders.

You can expect that SIM Utah will continue to be the organization where the local IT leader looks for community, peer collaboration, and IT best practices.
